Advertise on the South Coast, Nowra to Eden
The South Coast is free to read, and advertising is how it will pay for itself. If your business serves Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla or the Bega Valley, this page is the whole arrangement: what you can buy, what it costs, and what we will not sell. If you would rather just ask, use the enquiry form.
Two ways in
A labelled display slot. A marked box, kept apart from the stories, carrying your words as you wrote them. It is never dressed as a story and it has no bearing on what we cover or conclude.
A sponsored article. A piece we research, write and check to the same standard as everything else, labelled wherever it appears, with every factual claim tied to a source. It works when there is something to report: a new service, a finished job, a thing you know that a reader on this coast would be glad to learn. It does not work as a list of adjectives, and we will not write one.
What it costs
The floors are published so you know them before you ask.
| What | From |
|---|---|
| Sponsored article, one masthead, permanent, labelled | $450, usually around $600 |
| Data-led piece: a real dataset, an authored chart, a methodology note | $1,100 |
| Display slot, per month, three months at a time | $80, usually around $120 |
| Not-for-profits and community organisations | $150 |
The data-led piece costs more because it is a good deal more work, and it is the thing nobody else on this coast will make for you.
What the standard actually looks like
Saying a paid piece is held to the same standard as the reporting is worth nothing unless you can see the standard. We have not sold a sponsored piece yet, so there is no sponsored example to show you. These are our own reporting, and they are the bar a paid piece is written to:
- Shoalhaven's new hospital opens 28 October. Batemans Bay loses its ED in 2027. 40 quotations, each traceable to one of the 21 primary sources listed on it.
- The $940m bypass clears the highway north of Milton. Burrill Lake still rates F. 17 quotations, each traceable to one of the 8 primary sources listed on it.
- Bega Valley loses $3.8m, Shoalhaven $2.2m, Eurobodalla gains. 22 quotations, each traceable to one of the 13 primary sources listed on it.
That is what a paid piece buys: the documents read end to end, every figure and quotation traceable to where it came from, and the reader's question answered in the first screen. If what you want is a page of adjectives, we are the wrong paper and the rates above will look expensive.
Who reads it
The South Coast is new and its readership is being built. We will not quote a reach figure until we have one measured from our own server counts, and when we do it will be on this page.
| Page views from a search engine | 0 |
|---|---|
| All Australian page views | 0 |
| A reasonable reader estimate | 0 |
| About, per week | 0 search-referred views |
Measured over the 30 days to 2026-10-08, from our own server-side logs. These count views of stories, not of our tip form, advertise page or colophon. They are page views, not people: we run no cookies and no client-side script, so unique visitors cannot be counted and we will not quote you a number we cannot stand behind. The lower figure is the floor we are confident in. The range subtracts an estimate of our own visits, measured against staged mastheads nobody can reach.
What we will not do
No invented or paid-positive reviews. No product-flogging. The byline is not for sale: an arrangement buys a labelled placement and stops there. A brief that needs us to overstate, mislead or leave a commercial interest unsaid is declined, politely.
Disclosure, every time
Where there is a commercial relationship we say so, where the reader meets it. That protects you as much as the reader: a plug a reader works out for themselves costs the business in it more than it costs us. Consumer law requires it, and it would be our practice anyway.
How to enquire
Use the enquiry form, tell us about the business and what you have in mind, and we will come back to you. Asking commits you to nothing.
